From the old town grid of Melbourne Beach down through Melbourne Shores, Sunnyland Beach, Floridana Beach, and Aquarina to the Sebastian Inlet bridge, the south beaches are one long narrow neighborhood between the ocean and the river. It's one of our favorite places to work. Coming from Sebastian, we cross the inlet and we're already there.
The housing runs from 1960s beach cottages and stilt houses to serious newer builds, and every one of them lives in salt air and real wind. TradeWinds Construction builds for that. In Aquarina and the deed-restricted stretches, we handle community approvals and keep tight jobsites on narrow lots, where the neighbors are close and the ocean is closer.

Which part of the beaches do you cover?
All of it. The town of Melbourne Beach at the north end, down through Melbourne Shores, Sunnyland, Floridana, and Aquarina to the inlet. The south half of that strip is actually closer to our Sebastian base than most of the mainland.
What materials hold up best this close to the ocean?
Aluminum or coated-steel roofing with the right fasteners. Fiber cement over raw wood. Composite or PVC exterior trim, and stainless hardware. We spec beach-side jobs differently than mainland jobs, and we'll show you why.
Can you renovate a 1960s beach cottage without losing its character?
Yes. That character is why you bought it. We rebuild the failing parts, tune the kitchen and baths to modern life, and keep the terrazzo, the proportions, and the beach-house soul intact.
