TradeWinds Construction is based in Sebastian. Not in an office an hour away with Sebastian added to a service area list, but here, on this side of the river, where the owner lives and where most of our work happens.
That matters more than it sounds like it should. It means we can be at your house for an estimate in a couple of days instead of a couple of weeks. It means we will take a job that is too small to justify somebody else's drive time. And it means that if something needs attention six months after we finish, we are ten minutes away instead of gone.

The houses we work on here
Most of Sebastian is concrete block on a slab, built between the 1970s and the 1990s across Sebastian Highlands. Those houses were put up fast on quarter acre lots and they share the same list of things worth fixing. Kitchens closed off from the living room. Cabinets stopping short of the ceiling under a soffit. Original bathrooms with a fiberglass surround. Popcorn ceilings. Hollow core doors and builder grade trim.
None of that is a problem with the house. The block is solid and the lots are generous. Pull the soffit down, open the wall to the living room, run the cabinets up, put real trim on it, and the whole place reads differently.
Out along Indian River Drive and up toward Roseland the story changes. Older riverfront homes, additions stacked on additions, and salt air that goes after fasteners, fascia and exterior trim. Newer construction in the subdivisions off CR 512 has the opposite problem, which is that everything is fine and nothing has any character yet. That is a trim and built ins conversation.

Are you actually based in Sebastian?
Yes. Sebastian is home base, not a city we added to a list. The truck is here, the shop is here, and the owner lives here. That means a Sebastian estimate usually happens within a few days of your call, and it means we are close enough to come back if something needs attention after the job is finished.
Do you work in Sebastian Highlands?
Constantly. The Highlands is the biggest piece of housing stock in the city and most of it is concrete block on a slab, built between the 1970s and the 1990s. Popcorn ceilings, soffited kitchens, original bathrooms, single pane sliders, and a lot of good bones underneath. That is the exact house we are set up to remodel.
Do you handle permits in Sebastian?
We handle the permitting on the work that requires it. Whether it goes through the City of Sebastian or Indian River County depends on where the property actually sits, since plenty of Sebastian addresses are outside city limits. We confirm which one applies before we price the job so there are no surprises later.
Will you take a small job in Sebastian?
Yes, and we would rather you ask than assume. Trim repairs, a door that never closed right, drywall damage, rotted fascia, a closet that needs to be built out properly. Being ten minutes from most of the city makes small work practical for us in a way it is not for a company driving down from Melbourne.
How long does a Sebastian kitchen or bathroom remodel take?
A bathroom is usually a few weeks. A kitchen depends on whether the layout changes and how the countertop lead time falls, since stone gets templated after the cabinets are set. We give you a real schedule before demolition starts and we tell you when something slips instead of letting you find out on your own.
