Whole Home Remodeling in Sebastian, Vero Beach and Melbourne

One crew, one schedule and one number to call when you are redoing the whole house instead of one room.

A whole home remodel is a different animal than a kitchen. The trades stack on top of each other, the order matters, and one late decision pushes everything behind it. Most of the horror stories people tell about remodeling come from jobs where nobody was actually running the schedule.

TradeWinds handles the whole thing. Demolition, framing changes, the wall you want gone, plumbing and electrical coordination, drywall, ceilings, flooring, kitchen, bathrooms, trim and paint. You are not chasing five different companies and refereeing between them.

We are usually working on houses that are structurally fine and cosmetically stuck in the decade they were built. Concrete block ranches through Sebastian and Palm Bay, older places near the river, and beachside homes where the interior never got updated. The block is good. Everything attached to it is what we are changing.

Scope

What we handle

  • Full interior gut and rebuild, one room at a time or all at once
  • Layout changes, wall removal and framing modifications
  • Kitchen and bathroom remodeling as part of the larger scope
  • Ceilings, including popcorn removal, plank and beam work
  • Flooring, trim packages, doors and hardware throughout
  • Coordination of plumbing, electrical and mechanical trades
  • Exterior work rolled into the same schedule where it makes sense

Living through it, or not

Some people move out for a whole home remodel and some people stay and live in half the house. Both work. Staying is cheaper and slower, moving out is faster and lets us run trades in parallel. We will tell you honestly which one your scope calls for instead of pretending it makes no difference.

Either way we hang dust barriers, keep a clean path through the house, and stage the work so you are not without a kitchen and both bathrooms in the same week.

What people say about this work

These guys are awesome! 4 projects and none of them turned out easy to say the least. But tweaking here and there; professionalism and patience and it was all done. We have 2 more projects to be done.

Questions we hear

Questions about whole home remodeling

How long does a whole home remodel take?

It depends entirely on scope and whether you are living in it. A cosmetic refresh across a three bedroom block house can run a couple of months. A full gut with layout changes, new kitchen and two bathrooms runs considerably longer. We build the schedule with you before demolition and update it as we go.

Do we have to do the whole house at once?

No. Plenty of our whole home projects run in phases. Kitchen and main living area first, bathrooms next, exterior after that. Phasing costs a little more in total because we mobilize more than once, but it spreads the money and lets you keep living normally.

Do you handle the design or do we need an architect?

For most remodels inside an existing footprint we can work from your ideas and our own drawings. If you are moving structure, adding square footage or changing the roofline, that usually needs an engineer or architect and we will tell you up front rather than after we have your deposit.

What happens when you open a wall and find a problem?

We stop, show you, explain the options and price the fix before we keep going. Older Florida block houses hide plenty of surprises, mostly water damage, old wiring and framing that was never quite right. Finding it is normal. Hiding it from you is not.
