Paver driveways, patios, and pool decks laid to stay flat

Every neighborhood on this coast has one paver driveway that turned into a wave pool. That's never the pavers. It's the base underneath them.

TradeWinds Construction builds paver driveways, patios, walkways, and pool decks the slow way first. Excavate to proper depth. Build the base in compacted lifts. Screed clean bedding sand. Then lay the field, restrain the edges, sweep and set the joints, and make sure the whole surface drains away from the house.

Sandy Florida soil is forgiving to dig and unforgiving to shortcut. Compaction is the whole job. So that's the part we refuse to rush.

We know these houses

Pool homes in Palm Bay, Suntree, and Bayside Lakes keep pool decks in constant demand on this coast, while beachside and Vero island driveways lean toward shellstone tones and tumbled patterns that fit the look of the street.

Questions we hear

Questions about pavers & hardscapes

Can you install pavers over my old concrete driveway?

Often yes, if the slab is sound and the heights work at the garage and sidewalk. An overlay saves demolition cost. If the slab is heaved or crumbling, honest answer, it comes out, or the pavers will follow its failures.

Will weeds and ants come up through the joints?

Polymeric joint sand, installed and watered in right, locks the joints and keeps most of that out. Nothing stops Florida forever, but a swept re-sand every few years keeps the surface tight.

How soon can we drive on a new paver driveway?

Typically within a day or two of finishing, once the edges and joint sand are set. We'll give you the exact go-ahead for your job before we pack up.
