Hardie siding replacement
Replacement starts with taking the old siding off, not covering it. Once the wall is open we can see what is actually going on, and on older houses there is usually something. Soft sheathing at the bottom courses. Rot under a window that was never flashed.
When we find it, we show you, price the repair in plain language, and fix the sheathing before new board goes on. Covering rot with new material is not a job we will take.
Replacing one elevation at a time is a fair way to stage the cost, and we are happy to price it that way.

How long does Hardie siding last?

No. We take the old siding off. Going over the top hides rot, buries flashing problems, and makes the wall assembly thicker than the trim details were built for. We strip to the sheathing, repair what we find, install house wrap and flashing, and then hang new board.
How much does Hardie siding cost?
It depends on the size of the house, the number of stories, how much trim and detail work is involved, and what we find once the old siding comes off.
